This is a beautiful butterfly on the stand made by Fenton Glass. It is a wonderful deep purple glass that had been sprayed with a combination of metallic salts while hot in the making. This created a spectacular rainbow of colors on the surface, hence the carnival finish. The amethyst carnival reflects hues of blue, green, gold, silver, and purple, a look very reminiscent to that of an oil slick. This beautiful figurine can be used as a paperweight and/or a ring holder. There is a an oval fenton 8 (denotes the decade of the 80's) incised logo on the medial of the left wing. The measurements are 4.75 H x 4.25 W and it weighs 11.6oz.
