One of the all time great ballplayers and humanitarian who's life and career were cut short. Clemente was involved in charity work in Latin American and Caribbean countries. On December 31st, 1972, he died in a plane crash at the age of 38 while en route to deliver aid to victims of the Nicaragua earthquake.
