Japanese leporello bound accordion style binding with bright moss green boards in a pale yellow carboard original slipcase. Slipcase has white label on the front with black text to the front and spine with minor blemishes – front upper rear where price tag might have been removed. Boards are in near fine condition with only two small white marks to the front upper corner and center right. All corners are sharp with no wear or bumping. The boards are perfectly attached to the accordion pages with no tears and the folding text block is straight and solid with no damage. The interior pages are clean with no tears, chips, creases, or previous owner marks. Contains sixteen panels of Utamro’s drawings of birds, in two volumes, decorated with poetry in Japanese. Following the color print reproductions is an identification guide with small b&w illustrations of the relevant print and English translations of the poems. Unpaginated but approximately 45 pages.
