This wonderful silk baby kimono was my mother's, who was born in 1914.It is double layers of silk, with the outer layer a more textured look. The inner lining and hem areas are a smoother, shinier silk.It is very delicate with little white and pink flowers embroidered overall. It is a very pale sort of teal color. It measures 17” long, with the underarm seams being 6” long. This gorgeous kimono is in great antique condition with just a very tiny hole and pulled thread at the back of the neck area. Being over 100 years old, it would be a beautiful treasure to display or use for a baby shower. I hand washed the kimono in Woolite, so it looks a bit rumpled.
