Kawano is well-known as one of the earliest Japanese print artists to move from traditionalist styles and themes to more modern art-style subjects. This print dates from the 1950s and is a fantastic example of his work. It depicts a female figure in a green gown and long white veil. It evokes the simplicity of traditional Japan and a new modern style. Print is unframed.
