And now, some background information.
RICKY is my personal favorite True Religion design.
I had three pairs of this denim.
Two of them are now completely worn out.
I had them sewn up many times.
I don't think True Religion uses particularly high-quality fabric to begin with.
Sometimes, when you take them off, if you step on them with your foot, they can rip.
There are many fakes on flea market sites.
Sometimes the tags don't match the design, and sometimes they're incredibly well-made. I think it's okay to buy a fake if it's less than 5000 yen, depending on the design and condition.
The methods for spotting fakes online are only for reference and can't always be relied upon.
The safest option is to buy from an authorized retailer or something with an invoice from the time of purchase. You might not be able to trust imported goods otherwise. They sell fakes in America, too. It's better not to buy used, but it's different for vintage items.
I don't know about recent items.
I bought this over 10 years ago from the Omotesando shop, so I only know about items from that era. I was even acquainted with the staff at the shop back then.
Anyway, especially for young people, I recommend buying an authentic item from an authorized retailer at least once. You can't talk about authenticity if you don't know the real thing.
