This one of a kind bolo tie was purchased by my father in Santa Fe, NM, in the mid 1990's. It was worn maybe once. Stunning piece to wear or display as art sculpture.Made by artist Bill Worrell (1936-2021). Depicts a Native American faceless Shaman figure hand crafted in silver. Beautiful sculptural quality with 6 point antlers, outstretched arms holding a staff and incised shield. The bolo tips are also in silver and resemble stylized skulls. Simple silver loops at the back through which thread the black woven leather tie. This piece is signed on the back of the body "12/2/91" and "copyright Worrell." The tips are each signed "Worrell." On the back of the shield Mr. Worrell also inscribed "To QB McMahon." Jim McMahon is a Hall of Fame NFL quarterback who at the time of the piece's creation was on the Philadelphia Eagles. It may very well have belonged to Mr. McMahon before its purchase by my father. Or at least made for him or in his honor. I do not know. The Shaman measures 3 1/2 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches wide. The tips are 1 1/4 inches long. The leather tie is 40 inches total length. The piece has a lovely natural silver patina that I have not polished. The black leather has light color fade on one side. No other condition issues. Stored in a felt lined jewelry box for nearly 30 years. Smoke free home.
