the clips on these earrings have a kind of small notch mechanism that hooks onto the other part to lock. i find it difficult to keep them closed, but i dont wear earrings and have no idea if this is normal, but im assuming it is as the earrings look intact, just full disclosure before purchasing ... with all that out of the way , these earrings are something to behold ... im no gemologist, but im assuming these are rubies and sapphires, though they may be other type of semi precious gem stone, but if i can not tell, maybe it doesnt matter either way, just full disclose, again ...
