Although it is brand new and unused, it has been stored by an amateur for a long time, so it is described as almost unused .
Due to the low number of pilots, it is truly rare to find this for sale. It features two slanted pockets in the front, a small item pocket on the left arm, and Velcro for attaching patches on the chest. The lining includes an integrated quilted liner with foldable flaps on the pockets to prevent items from falling out.
The CWU-45/P is the current standard flight jacket for the US Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines for intermediate weather conditions. In the US Air Force, after the Korean War and the Vietnam War, the MA-1 jacket had been the primary jacket for pilots for a long time, but the CWU-45/P served as its successor. To increase crew survival rates in case of in-flight fires, the outer fabric of the jacket is made of a flame-resistant material developed by DuPont called Nomex (not fireproof). Nomex is a kind of aramid fiber, specifically an aromatic polyamide.
Concerning the condition details:
- In the third photo, there are stains and spots filled in with markers on the tags.
- In the sixth photo, the lower part under the Velcro of the left pocket is not sewn.
- From photos 7 to 10, the ribbing is also in good condition.
- In photos 12 to 15, measurements are taken with a tape measure for your reference: shoulder width 51, chest width 58, length 65, sleeve length 63.
