Vintage Lot 4 x Russel Wright Iroquois China Lettuce Green Cereal Fruit Bowls
Russel Wright designed the Casual dinnerware line for Iroquois China Company, a prominent American manufacturer of restaurant ware. This line, introduced in 1946, was made from durable, vitrified ironstone and designed for both oven and table use. Iroquois China, located in Syracuse, New York, was known for producing restaurant-quality dinnerware, and Wright's collaboration with them helped popularize modern, functional designs for everyday use.
The Casual line was designed to be both stylish and practical, suitable for use in the oven and on the table. The line was so durable that Wright and his wife Mary often demonstrated its strength by deliberately breaking dishes during promotional events.
