A superb eye clean Andesine with Copper Schiller from the Congo. A beautiful gem with a nice tear drop cut. The colors range from yellow, orange and red at the tip. A sharp looking gem overall. This is the only one I have in this color hue range.
Andesine is technically a labradorite Moonstone. Rare inclusions have been found like varying and sometimes high levels of argon gas, silver, gold and trace amounts of uranium and thorium. These are found as alluvial deposits in mountain streams. It is considered sacred ground.
