This is a punched cap-toe shoe from Knapp, likely manufactured in the early 1960s. I've seen a considerable number of vintage shoes, but I couldn't definitively determine whether the upper leather is kidskin, calfskin, or something else. However, the most likely possibility is kidskin, so I've titled it as such.
It has the luster and creasing typical of kidskin, but this pair also possesses the fine texture and soft material characteristics of calfskin, making it very difficult to judge. It might even be kangaroo. Regardless, I encourage you to experience the texture and design that can only be found in pairs from before the 1970s.
Knapp Bros was founded in 1922 in Massachusetts, Maine, by Elwin D Knapp and Clarence E Knapp. They were involved in the manufacture of a wide range of shoes, from dress shoes to work boots and military-style footwear.
