Vintage Miguel Melendez Taxco Double Serpent Bangle Bracelet
This exceptional vintage bangle bracelet is a masterpiece of design by the celebrated silversmith Miguel Melendez of Taxco, Mexico. The bracelet features an iconic double serpent design, crafted from sterling silver with an elegant oxidized finish that highlights the intricate details and flowing lines.
Melendez's reputation for fine craftsmanship was honed while working for legendary artists like William Spratling, Los Castillos, and Margot de Taxco before establishing his own shop in the 1950s/60s. The bracelet is secured by a sturdy push-down box clasp and is marked with the Melendez shop mark and an eagle hallmark. It has a separate safety chain, which needs to be reattached to its ring for full functionality. This is a true collector's piece, rich in history and artistic heritage.
The inside circumference measures 7 inches long and the bracelet measures 1 1/4 inches wide.
