This is a rare and special original dress from the Cypress Gardens theme park and gardens in Winter Haven Florida. I acquired this dress in the late 80s, the park started in 1936 by the Pope family and closed in 2009 and was known for having ladies dressed in these antebellum southern belle dress walking around the gardens and posing and interacting with the guests. There are many collectible postcards showing this activity. Some say Cypress Gardens was Florida's first theme park. These dresses were sold to guests in the gift shop, this is one of those dresses. It is a royal blue polyester with lace trim. the dress does not have a size tag and was made to fit multiple sizes as it has elastic at the waist, under the arms and at the neckline, the back closure is velcro. Measured flat the pit to pit is 18-21", the waist is 16-20" length approx 56". A sash (not included ) could be added to cinch in the waist as there is alot of stretch in the top. Beautiful condition, no rips, the bottom lace has a little darkening but nothing major. truly a rare piece of Florida memorabilia.
