I'am offering for sale a Signed DA Wheaton Village Blown Swirl/Stripe Controlled Bubble Glass Paperweight in blue & white. It has 8 separate pieces of striped glass that rise to the top & form a swirl pattern. There are bubbles strewn throughout in a controlled manner & at the very top, no bubbles & the bubbles end slightly off-center. These type of bubbles are somewhat difficult to make. Originally, it was Maurice Marinot who used chemically created bubbles in his work in France in the 20's and 30's, & was used a lot by Murano glass artesans in the 20's and 30's. Wheaton Village is a place wherein many different glass artists performed their work and still do so today. I could find no info on the glass artist DA, sorry. It's just shy of 3 tall & approximately 3 wide, in very good pre-owned condition. If you decide to purchase, please be advised I do not accept returns.
Thank you for viewing this item and please check out my other listings.
