This work by Fred Shepherdson, a Swedish immigrant settling in Ontario, is an excellent example of handmade and layered geometric MCM design.
This wooden tray is comprised of hand carved pieces of different types of wood creating a striking design. This is one of a kind and could be both displayed as art and used to impress company as a drink carrier or to compliment your spread as a tray for serving dishes, etc.
Scandinavian designers defined American moderndesign in the 50’s & 60’s with their design permeating furniture, decor, and kitchenware to this very day.
