African Pride 2 is an improved version of one of the best Annona's. African Pride 2 makes an even larger fruit that most say has an even better flavor, as well as fewer seeds.
Fruits tend to be larger than the size of a sugar apple, often having knobby, green skin, and a custard-like flesh with a bit more 'chew' than a cherimoya. Fruits may turn slightly yellow when ripe.
Unlike most annona fruits, 'African Pride' sets fruit without hand pollination, however hand pollinating will usually increase production.
An atemoya is normally heart-shaped or rounded, with pale-green, easily bruised, bumpy skin. The taste also resembles vanilla from its sugar apple parent.
