Rafael Alfandary is probably the best known of Canadian Modernist jewellery designers. Born in Belgrade and trained as a mechanical engineer in Israel, he moved to Toronto in the 70s. He took an ESL course at George Brown and as a thank-you present for a teacher, he made his first necklace.
Rafael pieces are pretty easy to spot. Hes best known for his work with Murano glass and brass and Kinetic elements. Many pieces have a handmade appearance
This is a lovely copper piece, unsure what the stone is?
