This is a completed vintage crewel embroidered art piece of an illustration by Bessie Pease Gutmann called "The Reward". Crewel embroidery, or crewelwork, is a type of embroidery using wool. This is a multidimensional piece where the dog, ice cream cone, shoes, socks and dress have been hand embroidered and adds texture to the piece. The rest of the piece is a soft fabric. No glass in the frame. The matte shows some wear. Framed piece measures 19" H x 15" W. Super rare tp find a completed crewel of this picture. Sure to draw compliments. Enjoy!
