I love pearls. Freshwater pearls, seed pearls, Keshi pearls, and ocean pearls. I've been fortunate enough to dive in Fiji and purchase South Sea pearls; and this is a magnificent pink one. This is the lighter colored (slightly) of two that I intended to make into drop earrings set in rose gold (of course!). They are exactly the same size, 10mm, but just a smidge lighter in color than the other one (I've included a picture of the two together - they may both still be available as I write this description.) At 10 mm, it is large enough to hold its own in a pendant!
The pictures are blown up significantly so that you can see the slightest of imperfections, a dimple, in the pearl. That spot would be where a jeweler would drill the pearl for a setting - and it also shows that this is a genuine, AAA quality pearl. It is just mind blowing to think this pretty pink perfection was created by a mollusk!!
