Vintage Franciscan Starburst Atomic 8 Salad Plates Ovoid Set of Two c.1958-60
This is a set of two identical 8 salad plates in an ovoid shape from Franciscan's Starburst space-age design line offered in the mid twentieth century as part of its Modern America collection. Released in 1954, Starburst was a huge hit and has become very collectible in the 21st century. Franciscan back stamps very accurately inform the age of their pieces--this is the squared stamp with C that dates this from 1958 to 1960.
We have 6 total plates and are offering them in sets of two to provide you with the option to fill out your collection or buy all and start a new one. We also have available 6 of the 10-7/8 dinner plates in a separate listing. These plates are heavy and will require plenty of packing and a thick wall box to ensure safe delivery--so shipping is what it is.
