Lot of two ballet art signed Noel Syers, iridescent foil prints paintings 1950s

availability: in Stock
$55.98  $53.18

Here is a set of two circa 1560s or 60s pieces of artwork featuring scenes from the ballet ballet Giselle... the ghosts of wronged women, the Wilis, almost force a man to dance himself to death, but he is saved by his dead lover (ballet by Adolphe Adam from 1841). Both pieces are signed by Noel Syers. This is some kind of foil painting ( or metal etching) where the images are composed of shiny foil that has a rainbow iridescent effect. This style of foil paintings were popular in the Mid-Century.
The paintings measure 9 1/4 x 7 1/4 (the portion visible in the frame. I did not remove the backs of these to measure). The metal (with glass) frames are 12 1/4 x 9 1/4 .
