Rare 1950's G-1 by the most respected and desired maker of the G-1 jacket, L.W. Foster. This one is a roomy size 40.Foster is known for excellent grainy goatskin and great quality. This jacket hits those points with a homerun! I did a little resto work on this one. The zipper was toast. I replaced it with the correct NOS blackened Conmar puller on a 100% cotton reproduction chain. The zipper is a match to the original with the silver teeth / Blackened puller combo seen on 1950's G-1's. Even the zipper tape color matches the original Conmar zipper.The mouton collar was replaced with beautiful rust brown vintage mouton fur that was selected for it's color, texture, and thickness. It is a match to the original fur on the jacket. The collar is nice and soft with no damage or matting. The knits were also replaced following the original stitch lines. The knits are the correct 100% Wool Bi-weave type. They are an antique seal color and are a match to the originals, not a dark seal color that sticks out as an obvious new replacement job. The liner is solid. A small topper was put on under the hanger strip to repair some fraying at the collar seam. It is matching Rayon material from another 1950's donor jacket and matches the areas that are not faded. The liner has a few areas of discoloration and some wear but is good to go for everyday use.This jacket is an amazing wearer that is refreshed and all set to go for another 70 years!Chest: 22"Arms: 25.5"Shoulders 19.5"Length 26"
