Original 1950s white mink shawl made up of pelts with each of the layers individually backed. The cape is fully lined in a very fine quality off white embossed jacquard silk fabric with a star print pattern. The label is hand stitched inside and reads, ‘Genuine Emba Jasmine Strand Natural White Mutation Mink’. Also hand stitched label from the department store it was purchased at "Harzfelds in Kansa City". Harzfeld's was a Kansas City, Missouri-based department store chain specializing in women's and children's high-end apparel.Each of the layers of fur is also fully backed with this wonderful quality jacquard silk. I've never seen a jacket layered in this way which gives it a beautiful, tiered effect.Condition wise, this is as good as it gets for a jacket dating from this period. There are two small stains on the interior of the silk (see photo), that might come out with a proper cleaning. The mink is a wonderful rich cream colour, not white, as white mink suggests. These are top quality pelts with no fur shedding. No significant marks on the silk and it is not monogrammed.The shawl is suitable for sizes XS to Large. It's a one size fit all type shawl since it sits on your shoulders. Pockets to keep your hands warm.Wonderful quality from a bygone era and if stored correctly, will last for many years to come.
