Purchased new in 1988, and has had only one owner since. The multi color splash paint job is not from the factory during production, but was a specified custom detail done by the bike shop upon purchase. It's a 36 year old bike, so it shows wear, but considering its age, it's in excellent structural, functional, and aesthetic conditon. Shimano Deore XT derailleurs, Tioga bar, 26 Araya Schrader wheels. Gears shift smoothly, brakes are perfect, never crashed. The tires/tubes are full and firm and functional, but they should probably be replaced soon, as they show age-related cracking of the rubber on the sidewalls. Handlebar is good, but it's spotted with cosmetic oxidization (easily fixed with black touch up paint). Back in the late 1980s and early 1990s, these were considered higher-Tier bikes, and were kind of the industry standard for the (then-new) world of recreational/sport mountain biking. Collectible and functionally reliable. Sold as pictured.
