3 RARE Chicago 1920 Nellie Blythe Chase Face Powder Franco American Hygienic Co

availability: in Stock
$399.00  $379.05

These 3 SEALED face powders are a bit of a historical fashion and cosmetic mystery. The powders have nothing to do with Nellie Bly (Elizabeth Cochrane Seaman) the journalist, although NELLIE BLYTHE CHASE was also committed to a mental asylum as insane after the death of her son. This Nellie was a composer and was involved in the cosmetic industry. Nellie Blythe married into the Franco-American Hygienic Company, which was located at 189 Michigan, Chicago. After her time in asylums, she worked as the president for Franco American for a period. I would prefer the three powders stay together for historical preservation. One of them comes with a box and the other two do not. All three are sealed and if I press on the top there is a poof of powder and they feel full. They are each labeled as Nellie Blythe designs for beauty In 1944 there was a line called Nellie Blythe Cosmetics ; however, the line did not have any face powders. These three powders are likely prototypes from the early 40's
