5 Quartz Crystal Specimens 3 to 5.5 Yukon Territory Pseudomorphs Amethyst

availability: in Stock
$60.00  $57.00

Set of 5 Quartz Rock Mineral Specimens made of various crystalline forms and sizes. The 2 purple Amethyst likely came from Brazil and has yellow gold plating on the base and was sawn down the middle by the lapidary so is probably a tourist specimen that they repurposed from scrap. The other 4 specimens I personally found and recovered from the Wheaton River Valley gold district from Chieftan Hill located in the Southern Yukon when I worked 1997-1998 as a claims manager and field geologist for a mining company that owned the claims. The largest specimen measures at 5.5 and is semi massive with multiple crystals with a remnant of rhyolite matrix on the base. There is a 4 lumpy botryoidal specimen and a 3 pseudomorph cockscomb quartz after angel wing calcite and a 3.5 pseudomorph quartz after spar calcite. These are in as found condition with some handling marks except for the amethyst as described.
