Rhodonite is a manganese deposit formed by hydrothermal, contact or regional metamorphic, and sedimentary processes. Rhodonite forms red, pink, brownish-red, gray, typically tabular crystal clusters.
Hardness: 5.5-6.5
Lollingite forms a series with safflorite and can also contain considerable amounts of nickel. Löllingite forms steel gray to silver white, prismatic crystal clusters.
