This round compact features beautiful gold vermeil over 800 silver with an etched scroll design. Hand painted Italian lovers scene on one side, with enameled faux lapis lazuli and malachite detail and intricate scrollwork that frame the scene. There are cabochon stones which I believe to be carnelian. Antique Italian 800 silver with gold vermeil and hand painted enamel compact. Beveled mirror, powder screen, and pouf can be found inside. This can still be used as a loose powder compact or pill box. In lovely vintage condition with some tarnishing to back side. I will leave polishing to the new owner:) Stamped "Italy", "800" and "S.F.A." (not sure if initials or Saks Fifth Avenue?)
