Simmons played a huge role in one of the most amazing comebacks in World Series history. In 1929, Philadelphia trailed Chicago, 8-0 in the seventh inning of Game 4 when Simmons hit a leadoff homer. Philly batted around and Simmons hit a single in his second at-bat, as they completed a 10-run inning for a 10-8 win.
