Rare and collectible true first US edition with first issue jacket. “J.K. Rowling” on spine, no “Year 1” badge, Guardian quote on rear jacket, price of 16.95 on front liner flap. Full number line 1-10 on copyright page. Jacket is protected in new archival sleeve but with some rubbing/scuffing to faces and shelf wear around the edges - including chipping, creases, small tears and a bit of curling/peeling of laminate finish at top and bottom edge of jacket. Boards slightly bowed, mildly soiled, and with bumped/torn corners. Small stain to bottom edge of rear board. Spine is slanted and binding is split at title page and a few other gutters, however all pages remain attached. Previous owner’s name of front free endpaper and some soiling to outer edge of text block, otherwise all pages are clean and unmarked. See photos for condition.
