Limoges Teapot and Sugar Bowl Currents Pattern by J Marsay LS & S 1895 to 1920

availability: in Stock
$395.00  $375.25

A beautifully hand painted teapot and sugar bowl decorated in deep vibrant rich colors of wine, red, oranges and yellows, and signed by a very fine Limoges porcelain artist- J Marsay. The pattern is currents.

This set was my grandmothers and I know she cherished it. It was something she couldn't afford but saved and saved until she finally was able to purchase it. I'm fairly certain there was a creamer but it must have broken over the years.

The teapot measures @ 8 inches from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle, and it stands @ 5 1/2 inches tall to the tip of the gold handle

The covered sugar bowl measures @4 3/4 inches wide and stands @ 4 1/2 inches tall to the top of the gold handle

The bottom markings are in red (L s & S Limoges France) and green (Limoges France with a star)

These are in quite good condition for age, some of the gold is rubbed off but I see no cracks or chips. There are some tiny areas where it looks like the paint may have rubbed off. A Treasure!
