This incredible WWII U.S. Navy Destroyer Plankowner trophy was made from salvaged wood from from U.S.S. Charles F. Hughes (DD 428) . USS Charles F. Hughes (DD-428) was a Benson-class destroyer in the United States Navy during World War II. Over the course of WWII the USS Charles F. Hughes (DD-428 saw service in North Africa, Anzio Landings, southern France, Okinawa, and was present in Tokyo Bay for the Japanese V-J Day surrender.
