Vintage file, not sure what to call it, could be used for a number of things. Does have normal wear. Drawer on top does have a mini gap from the top of the drawer to the top of the cabinet as seen in pictures, looks like it could be just the way it was made. Also, has mini pin size holes that run along one side of all the drawers, I believe each drawer was labeled at some point. On top of cabinet along the edge of both sides you can see where the wood filler is that covered the screw or nail holes when made. Could be sanded and refinished or left alone. Does not affect the sturdiness of the cabinet.
