This is a Keniska wrap skirt made from a Kenyan Marilia kimono. Kenyan Marilia is a brand that aims to perpetuate kimono culture by creating clothing from kimonos, and all their items are one-of-a-kind, crafted from a single kimono.
This skirt is from their early days, and I managed to snag one despite almost all of them selling out instantly upon their online shop launch. I believe the designer herself made all the pieces during this period.
The fabric is incredibly soft, and the skirt flows beautifully, swaying with every step. It's elegant and charming, but the light blue color doesn't match my wardrobe, so it hasn't gotten much wear. It's a shame to keep such a beautiful piece, with its deep connection to the kimono, tucked away after only a few wears. I'd love for someone else to enjoy it.
As a wrap skirt, it can be worn by anyone regardless of waist size. The length is about ankle-length on a 5'1 woman. It looks adorable paired with short boots.
The original price was ¥32,780. The material is synthetic and treated to be wrinkle-resistant, so it's machine washable.
It's been home-cleaned and will be shipped folded. If there are any wrinkles, they can be easily removed by dampening the fabric and hanging it to dry.
