First edition, seventh printing hardcover copy of Lassie Come Home by Eric Knight (John C. Winston / Junior Literary Guild, 1940). This copy printed in 1941. Illustrated by Margierite Kirmse. A scarce early printing of this story of the beloved childrens book character, the dog Lassie. Price-clipped jacket is now protected in archival sleeve but previously experienced some chipping, tears and creases, most notably to back cover. Pictorial boards are straight and clean with corners and spine ends bumped. Spine is straight and binding remains fairly strong but with a few instances of mildly split binding. Previous owner’s inscription on half title page and small stain on Contents page, otherwise all pages are clean and unmarked. See photos for condition.
