This board is called poch. It started in the 1400s. It lost its popularity in the 1700s. Then a bit after became popular again. It's a type of poker game for more than two players. It originated in Germany and European countries . I'm not certain of all history but you can do a quick Google search. It's pretty interesting nonetheless!
