Vintage exotic carved wood Asian shoes red green open heel palm trees embroidery

This listing is for a pair of exotic wooden shoes. They may have been made in occupied Japan (or Philippines?) shortly after WW2. The soles are hand carved, featuring an an Asian style hut and a palm tree. But my most favorite feature about this carving is the fact that it goes all the way through! These shoes likely had more of a souvenir status rather than functional application. Although, if you have a small/narrow foot, they might be just perfect for a date night or an art exhibition opening. :-)

The top of these shoes is made of fabric. The red exterior feels like wool, the interior lining is cotton, the embroidery also feels like cotton. The bottom of left shoe is marked Sison's art shop . The interior sole measures about 9 , the bottom measures about 8 and width at its widest is about 2 1/2 . They might fit someone wearing size 6? The condition of these shoes is good (but rustic) vintage.
