On the Beats Solo 3, the folding hinge has a magnetic sensor that automatically powers them on when you unfold them and off when you fold them. The sensor is faulty so they only turn on & off at a certain angle.
These work & sound great with the aux cord and I am selling these to be used like that. I’ve got them to work and connect to Bluetooth but it’s a hassle.
