My grandparents bought this on a trip to France when they were stationed in Germany in the early 1950s. When my cousins and I for kids it never spun fast enough for us, so we'd grab the carousel with our hands and spin this thing around at lightspeed LOL surprised it still works. It does need one of the chains on the Dumbo chair replaced as right now I have it Mickey Moused with a wire. Definitely has some wear and tear but both wind up mechanisms work ...one spins the carousel and the other one plays the music box.
