80’s Marika Contompasis creme and rainbow sweater set with ribbon detailing.
Contompasis has exhibited in the Smithsonian, MoMA and Los Angelos County Museum of Art among many others. Her collections have been sold by prestigious retailers including Barney's New York, Fred Segal and Bergdorf Goodman. The textile art and design show clearly through this piece. From the use of different patterns and fabric ribbons, it creates a visually striking piece of wearable art. This item definitely a collector's item!
The only defect noted is that the threads are very open on the inside of the sweater skirt, and they have been pulled in some sections, but has mostly not affected the outside; please see photos for blemishes.
