This is a genuine freshwater pearl in a quality, thick sterling setting. Personally, I think it's great on a medium black leather cord or rubber necklace. The bale will fit a fairly thick chain, too.
There is a slight dimple (naturally occurring) you can see in the side view picture. Not really noticeable, but I wanted to make sure it's known before buying. It doesn't take away from the pearl's beauty.
