Absolutely stunning piece of history! This very large and detailed piece that took almost 4 months to complete, a unique bezel telling a story of the Atocha galleon being engulfed in the tentacles of a large octopus seeking its treasure. The octopus is solid sterling silver with a black rhodium finish, and has a white topaz eye that "pops". The tentacles not only wrap around the entire coin, but also serves as the prongs and even the bale of this beautiful conversation piece. The ship is also solid sterling silver with a 14kt gold overlay. The black rhodium, 14kt overlay and sterling silver provide a striking contrast that is much more stunning in person. The coin is made from the silver bars recovered from the Atocha and comes with a certificate stating that.
