This is the round covered vegetable bowl/casserole in the 'English Chippendale' pattern in red. It was produced by Johnson Brothers from 1935-1978. It features an allover pattern of red Cabbage Roses, stems & leaves, and other blossoms on a white ground. The rim is scalloped and embossed. Diameter: 8¾ inches without the tab handles. Marked, ''English Chippendale/ (Crown)/ Johnson Bros/ England/ Design Patent 103,232/ All decoration under the glaze/ Permanent & acid resisting colors.'' This vintage set is in very good condition.
