W.&L.T. (Wild & Lethal Trash) was a brand established in 1993 by Walter Van Beirendonck, a fashion designer and graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium, with the support of a business venture.
With the slogans Kiss The Future! and Wild And Lethal Trash, the brand presented collections with a unique and explosive worldview, gaining cult popularity in the 90s. However, due to a conflict in the brand's direction with the company, Walter was unfortunately removed as the designer of W.&L.T.
In 1986, Walter, along with six other graduates of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp: Dries Van Noten, Ann Demeulemeester, Marina Yee, Dirk Bikkembergs, and Dirk Van Saene, plus Martin Margiela, participated in an exhibition in London. They gained worldwide recognition and were subsequently known as the Antwerp Six, revolutionizing the global fashion scene.
In 2001, Walter launched a brand under his own name and has since been active as a lecturer and president of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
He mentored designers who later achieved great success, including Wim Neels, Raf Simons, and Bernhard Willhelm, who were his assistants at the time.
