Rare 1910s Tested Bakelite Decorative Hair Fork U-shaped hair pick. Olive Green Brown With Black Faceted Studs
An exceptional early 20th-century hair comb in U-shape with black faceted beads set through the back using early pin-set construction. The body is a dark olive-brown phenolic resin, consistent with early Bakelite precursors. Strong tar-like odor under heat, yellow/orange Simichrome reaction.
The black studs/beads do not react to simichrome and don’t appear to be glass - unknown material.
