Authentic antique. This was discovered in Germany when we purchased it for our shop.. a true masterpiece! It's rumered to have been once taken by Hitler himself during his rein of terror ..when he confiscated many paintings during the war and most have never been found to this day. The reason we believe this story or so called folklore is because when we picked this example up from a estate in Berlin...the location it came from was a known location to where it's believed he store these artworks after his rein. Which took place during his time of power. In this location we witnessed a handful of very priceless artworks and some of them had his signature Hitler carved deep into the back of the frame-work as if he wanted others to acknowledge those were now his . Also, a monogrammed suitcase with A. HITLER stenciled onto it was among this discovery of rare paintings done by master painters of the 1900's.
