Introducing the Empire State Selvedge, Naked & Famous Denim NYC’s first exclusive jean.The State Selvedge features several design elements inspired by city from which it’s named after. The denim is a classic weight at 12.5oz’s, woven in a broken twill construction. Broken twill is a combination of both left and twill and right-hand twill.With New York being a cultural melting pot bringing so many cultures and walks of life together all in one place, we though a broken twill would be the perfect choice to represent that.We also opted to use American grown Supima cotton.Supima cotton is an extra long staple cotton meaning it’ll provide a soft hand feel as well as a more durable fabric, New York tough some may say.The orange, white and blue Selvedge ID represents the colors of the NYC flag.To tie it all together like a billboard smack in the Heart of the City. We have beautiful leather patch with artwork done by revered artist Alvin Lee. It features a reimagining of our classic tragic blond donning the Liberty crown. And inscribed in graffiti we have New York strong. This is all on embossed on a vegetable tanned leather that will patina nicely with age
