The Shoryu (Ascending Dragon) series of Kanazawa foil fountain pens, featuring a drawing of an ascending dragon, using the 400-year-old traditional Kanazawa foil technique.
The Ascending Dragon is traditionally depicted as an auspicious symbol. Inspired by Tawaraya Sotatsu's Cloud Dragon Screen, the Kanazawa foil momichirashi technique is meticulously applied to each pen body, expressing the atmosphere of the Rinpa school with the outstanding techniques of modern maki-e. The base Kanazawa foil momichirashi technique is a traditional technique of intentionally crushing thinly stretched gold leaf into small pieces and applying them. This creates a sense of depth in the background, and the deep, elegant shine further enhances the dynamism of the dragon, resulting in a luxurious and special fountain pen.
In addition, it is equipped with the slip seal mechanism for complete airtightness to prevent ink from drying out, which has been highly praised in the Century series. You can start writing smoothly at any time, and even users who only use it once or twice a year can write with fresh ink. By incorporating traditional techniques cultivated throughout history into a fountain pen, it has become an unprecedentedly elegant fountain pen reminiscent of a folding screen painting.
