For all of those women who recognize the name "Alexis Kirk" you know the quality of the belts he designed. This one is from the early 1980's and it has been very lightly worn.As you can see, the 1 inch wide pastel beige leather belt is in Very Good Vintage condition and the metal buckle portion is in Excellent Vintage condition, shiny without any darkened or scratched areas. The fantastic swooping wing belt buckle is a silver tone metal with shiny beige enamel and silver linear and dot pattern. In size it is 4 and 1/2 inches by 2 inches angling down to a pointed end.This is the type of belt buckle that has loops in the back side to slide in your choice of 1 inch wide belts. In the photos that show the back of the buckles those loops are visible. There is a hook on the back of the larger side of the wing design and an open hook in the middle into which the hook slides to hold the belt in place in the other side of the belt.Of course part of the appeal of these belts is that you can easily swap out any 1 inch size belt for a different color with the same belt buckle. This buckle can be used with any number of other removable belts of this style and the same is true for the belt itself. Once you have the belt in place you adjust it to your waist size by moving the side pieces to exactly fit either your waist or lower on the hip if that is how you want to wear it that day. Inside the back of the leather belt there is an Alexis Kirk logo and also behind the buckle.
